On October 11th, 2012, Mrs. Tonya Lewis of Children with a Vision invited Congresswoman Kathy Castor and Col EJ Otero to a town hall meeting to answer questions related to East Tampa and the minority community. Unfortunately, Congresswoman Castor was unable to attend to answer the questions of her constituents, but Col Otero was present and allowed the entirety of the meeting to answer questions.

Proof that Col Otero’s ground game in District 14 is causing a stir, Congresswoman Kathy Castor has popped up in a new mailer detailing her work as representative of District 11.

Also included in her piece was Politico’s “Lie of the Year”, claiming her fight to stop the Republican’s attempts to end Medicare as we know it.

It is a show of desperation that a 6 year incumbent would use such a partisan tag line, one that has been time and time again, refuted by multiple sources.

Posted yesteday by Javier Manjarres on The Shark Tank, Kathy Castor has continued to regurgitate the same stale Democrat talking points on Medicare. She continues to claim that the proposed Ryan plan would “end Medicare as we know it”, knowing full well that it was Democrats who raided $716 Billion from the Medicare Trust Fund. She also fails to mention that the Ryan plan would leave the current system intact for those 55 and over.

While Kathy Castor focuses her unsubstantiated attacks on the national stage, Col EJ Otero continues to gather support through grassroots efforts from both Republican and Democratic groups. It is time for a representative in Tampa Bay that focuses on the needs of their constituents, NOT the will of their party leaders in Washington!

On August 14th, Col EJ Otero was one of two military veterans in the Tampa Bay region to win their primary battle. EJ Otero beat his opponent, Eddie Adams Jr, with 60% of the vote to Eddies 40%. Quoted by the Tribune:

“The establishment way of thinking and doing things are about to change. We are going to have a candidacy concentrating on jobs — saving jobs in Tampa, creating jobs in Tampa, putting a strong plan in place on how to reach out to Latin America for investments for the Tampa Bay region.”

Otero now goes on to face Democrat incumbent Kathy Castor in the Nov 6th General Election.

ON August 14th, Col EJ Otero won a resounding victory against his Republican Primary opponent, Eddie Adams, Jr. Otero will now be looking to face Democrat incumbant, Kathy Castor, in the November 6th General Election.

Upon hearing of his victory, Col Otero said:

“It’s humbling….It is an honor to have the opportunity to present new ideas for constituents in the Tampa Bay area. One of the things I did was listen carefully to folks….There was a sense of frustration I detected. They just wanted someone to talk to them about new ideas.”

61% of PINELLAS REPUBLICAN SUPER VOTERS SELECT EJ OTERO

U.S. House of Representatives District 14

Yesterday, Pinellas County Republican Executive Committee Members and Guests filled out ballots and entered them into a voting machine set up to poll voter preferences in federal, state and local races.

EJ OTERO won 61% of the vote even though this is his first political race. Adams, who has been campaigning in St. Pete for 6 years, only managed a meager 39%. St. Petersburg represents a small segment of the district which is heavily concentrated in Tampa and SE Hillsborough County.

While networking among voters in yesterday’s poll, I asked why they favored Otero over Adams – the answer was his focus on the issues and solution oriented platform.

EJ Otero, Colonel U.S. Air Force, is running a strong campaign based strategies that will lead to jobs, prosperity, security and Congressional reform. The depth of Otero’s international expertise and vast business and military experience are key factors to solving the fiscal and security problems strangling people in our district and making them less secure.
